Description
This violin is made with a maple back of faint figure and displays. It has some well repaired minor worm damage in two areas. The ribs, neck and scroll are of similar maple, it’s figure slightly inclined. The scroll is grafted to the neck and also shows repairs to old worm holes. The table is of medium to fine grained spruce in generally good condition. The varnish is of a golden brown with floods of reddish color. The entire instrument is free from cracks or visible repairs and is in a fine state of preservation. It bears no label but is believed to have originated in Hungary from a period of the early 1800’s.
