Bow rehair and repair services are available for violin, viola, cello, and bass bows. Cleaning and polishing of the bow and lubrication of the frog eyelet are included with every rehair. We use only the best available Mongolian stallion hair and bows are rosined with premium rosin, unless requested by the customer to leave the new hair unrosined.

Bow maintenance is very important to the quality of your sound. Bows should typically be rehaired every 6 to 12 months with normal use, and more frequently with heavier use. These are indications that your bow needs a rehair:

• There are too few hairs left on the playing edge of the bow. Playing on your bow in this condition will cause warpage.
• Rosin no longer remains on the hair but is caked on to the strings or coated on the top of the instrument.
• The hair is brittle and easily broken.
• The hair has absorbed oils from being handled and is visibly dirty.
