Description
During his career, Stradivari is thought to have made about 1100 instruments with only about a half dozen of them embellished with intricate patterns of inlay and wood. Of the decorated instruments that exist today, the “Hellier” is the best preserved, named after Samuel Hellier, High Sheriff of Staffordshire 1742, and forms part of the Smithsonian collection. Gliga Vasile Violins are the finest offerings from the Gliga workshop in Reghin Romania. The Carpathian spruce and well flamed Carpathian maple are finished in an oil varnish which combined
with the special White Bone and Ebony inlaid Purfling Fittings makes for a strikingly beautiful violin with a velvet tone.
